Should I Get a Macbook or Macbook Pro for College?

I'm a college student who is giving up on PCs. I have had nothing but bad look with them and have decided to switch to MAC. I'm undecided on whether I should buy a Macbook or a Macbook pro, however. I'm an education major, so I'm not going to be doing anything real artsy with it, primarily paper writing, research, web surfing, note taking, etc. Which would I be better off buying?
