Freelance Photography?

I love photography, but it's always just been a hobby. People are encouraging me to get more serious about it, & take it to the next level. Some seem to think I'm good & love my photos. I would love to moonlight as a freelancer & maybe go full time doing it. I live in a tourist town & artsy, fartsy community. My question is how do I get started? How much should I sell my art work for? I have no clue where to begin.
